The author is one of five sons born into a family that endured overwhelming adversity. Yet, despite regular instances of domestic violence, neglect and abject poverty as a result of an alchoholic parent, the boys and their mother survived years of hardship. By his own admission the instinct for survival, which translates into fear of annihilation and death, was the energy behind adaptation and surrender to embrace life. He completed high school, but had to abandon his ambition to attend university due to a lack of finances. However, he was determined to overcome the obstacles of his childhood and persue a better life. He studied part time and completed his studies in Batchelor Sciences. His credentials as a Human Resources practitioner secured employment within major corporations, which afforded him the opportunity to explore the diversity of human behavior. Character traits that particularly interested him were those of individuals who suffer from a poor self-image, and who were overtly aggresive and obsessive. Because he recognised these character traits as defense mechanisms within himself as a result of his childhood circumstances. He could empathise with individuals who had a similar history. Because relentles anxiety dominates modern life, many individauls today find themselves overwhelmed by ongoing change within a highly competetive evironment to continually exceed expectations at work and home. It is no wonder so many people suffer from stress and low self-esteem and approach life with trepidation. Fear in some form or another has infiltrated most people' lives. Fear from lack of safety , fear of failure, job insecurity and fear if we don't excel at our job or personal life we will be pushed onto the periphery of society. With these scenarios in mind, he decided to put pen to paper to outline ways for an individual to come to terms with his or her inner conflict and to show them that there is a way to approach life from a fresh perspective and prosper. Connecting with our inner higher being is essential to manage our daily stresses and conflicts to create the calmness that is needed to live a successful, prosperous, happy and healthy life.
